How many languages does TellDone support?

TellDone supports 60+ languages for speech recognition and transcription. The app interface is available in 15 languages: English, Spanish, Russian, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Slovak, Greek, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.

Can I use two languages?

Yes. TellDone has a two-language model - your app interface language and your transcription language are independent. For example, you can use the English interface while recording and getting reports in Russian.

  • Interface language controls buttons, menus, and navigation
  • Transcription language controls how your speech is processed and what language reports are generated in

The interface language follows your device language. The transcription language can be changed in Settings.

Does TellDone work offline?

Yes. You can record voice notes without an internet connection. Recordings are saved locally on your device and automatically uploaded when you're back online.

While offline, you can also browse your existing notes, tasks, and events. Server features (transcription, AI analysis, sync) resume when you reconnect.

On the web app, offline recordings are stored in your browser and retried up to 5 times automatically. If all retries fail, the recording appears in a manual-retry queue so you can try again when you have a stable connection.

How is my voice data processed?

By default, TellDone uses server transcription - your audio is sent to the cloud for accurate transcription and AI analysis.

If you prefer more privacy for transcription, you can switch to Apple Speech Recognition in Settings. With this option, your speech is transcribed on your device instead of a third-party speech service. Audio is still uploaded to the server for playback and AI analysis. Note that on-device transcription may be less accurate for some languages.

What happens when I reach my plan limit?

You'll see a clear error message explaining which limit you've reached (notes, STT minutes, storage, or recording duration). Your existing data is completely safe - you just can't create new items beyond the limit until it resets next month or you upgrade.

You can always use text input as an alternative if your STT minutes are used up.

Can I change my transcription language?

Yes, anytime. Go to Settings > Transcription language and choose a new language. The change applies to all future recordings. Past recordings and reports keep their original language.

Choose the language you speak most often for the best accuracy. Avoid switching frequently between recordings.

How does Smart Context auto-complete work?

When you mention completing a task in a voice note - for example, "I finished the quarterly report" - TellDone automatically finds the matching active task and marks it as done. This works for up to 3 tasks per recording.

Smart Context matches your words against your active task list. It's available on Basic plan and above.

Can I undo an auto-completed task?

Yes. If Smart Context marked a task as done by mistake, you can undo it:

  1. Go to Settings > Activity
  2. Find the auto-completion entry
  3. Undo the action

You can also manually mark the task as active again from the task detail screen.

Are webhook deliveries secure?

Yes. Every webhook delivery is signed with HMAC-SHA256. Your endpoint can verify the signature to confirm the data genuinely came from TellDone and wasn't tampered with.

Can I export my data?

Yes, on Basic plan and above. Go to Settings > Account > Export My Data to download a ZIP file containing all your data in JSON format plus your audio recordings. This is useful for backups or if you want to move to another service.

The download link is valid for 48 hours after the export is ready. You can request a new export after 7 days.

How do I delete my account?

  1. Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account
  2. Enter your password to confirm
  3. Check your email for a confirmation link
  4. Click the link - a 7-day grace period begins
  5. After 7 days, all data is permanently removed

We recommend exporting your data first if you want to keep a copy.

What's the difference between email reports and email forwarding?

These are two separate features:

  • Email reports send you periodic AI summaries (daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly digests of your activity)
  • Email forwarding sends you the processed data from each individual recording right after it's created - notes, tasks, and events

Email reports are available on Basic and above. Email forwarding requires Pro or Ultra.

Can I use TellDone with Siri?

Yes. TellDone offers 6 Siri Shortcuts on iOS for hands-free operation. You can create notes, check your tasks, and view your schedule using voice commands without opening the app.

Can I edit a note title or task description directly?

Yes. Tap any field on the detail screen to edit it. Changes save automatically on iPhone, or when you tap Save on the web. Voice follow-ups still work too - you can add details by recording another note.

Can I record more than 10 minutes on Apple Watch?

Pro and Ultra plans support chained Watch recording up to 60 minutes total (even on Ultra, the Watch tops out at 60 minutes - the full 90-minute length is only available on iPhone). Before each 10-minute segment ends, the Watch shows a "Continue" or "Finish" prompt. Tapping Continue starts the next segment automatically.

On Free plan, recording stops at 5 minutes. On Basic plan, recording stops at 10 minutes. Neither plan supports chained segments.

Why are there two language settings now?

One is for the app UI (15 supported languages) and one is for what you actually say (60+ supported voice languages). They're independent, so a German speaker can keep a Japanese UI and still get German summaries and reports.

What's the Inbox bell?

The bell at the top of the app shows server-to-user notifications - account events, billing reminders, webhook failures, and other things that need your attention. See Inbox and support.

How do I contact support?

What are the 7 note types?

TellDone's AI automatically classifies each note into one of 7 types:

  1. Task - when you set yourself something to do
  2. Idea - a thought or concept to save
  3. Info - a fact, contact, address, or number
  4. Status - a report of what you've accomplished
  5. Meeting - a meeting or conversation summary
  6. Event - a meeting or event with a specific time
  7. Reflection - thoughts, conclusions, or observations

The type is assigned automatically based on the content of your recording. You don't need to specify it.
