Google Tasks
Send tasks from your voice notes to Google Tasks and keep their status in sync.
Setup
- Go to Settings > Integrations
- Tap Google Tasks
- Sign in with your Google account (OAuth)
- Select the task list you want TellDone to use
- Tasks from future recordings export automatically
How it works
- Tasks created from your voice notes are automatically added to your selected Google Tasks list
- Two-way status sync - task completions flow in both directions:
- Complete a task in TellDone, and it's marked done in Google Tasks
- Complete a task in Google Tasks, and TellDone picks it up automatically
- Automatic sync - if auto-sync is enabled in Settings, TellDone syncs with Google Tasks on app open (minimum 30-minute interval), in the background (approximately every 4 hours), and immediately on every task toggle
- Manual sync - tap Sync in Settings > Integrations > Google Tasks at any time
Enable or disable automatic sync in Settings > Integrations > Auto-sync.
tip
For the most accurate daily reports, open TellDone in the evening before your report generates at midnight. This triggers a sync and ensures completed Google Tasks are reflected.
note
Google Tasks is a local integration available on iOS only. It works directly on your device, does not require a paid plan, and does not count against your server integration slots.
Troubleshooting
If tasks aren't syncing:
- Check that you're still signed in - go to Settings > Integrations > Google Tasks
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting your Google account
- Make sure you have a task list selected
- Use the manual Sync button to force a sync
tip
Google Tasks works alongside other task integrations like Apple Reminders or Todoist. Each integration syncs independently, so you can use multiple at once.
