Microsoft To Do

Basic plan and above

Microsoft To Do is a server integration. You need at least one available integration slot (Basic: 1 slot, Pro and Ultra: unlimited).

TellDone syncs your tasks with Microsoft To Do in both directions. Tasks created in TellDone appear in Microsoft To Do, and changes in either app are reflected in the other. This integration covers tasks only - notes and events don't sync to Microsoft To Do.

Setup

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations
  2. Tap Microsoft To Do
  3. Tap Connect
  4. Sign in with your Microsoft account - a personal account (outlook.com, hotmail.com, live.com) or a work or school account
  5. Authorize TellDone to access your tasks
note

Microsoft's sign-in screen may show an "unverified publisher" warning. This doesn't affect the connection - it's just Microsoft's standard notice and doesn't change what TellDone can access.

If you use a work or school account, your organization may restrict which apps you can connect. If sign-in is blocked, ask your IT administrator or use a personal Microsoft account instead.

TellDone creates a dedicated TellDone list in Microsoft To Do on first connect. All synced tasks live in that list, so your existing Microsoft To Do lists stay untouched.

What syncs

  • Task title and description
  • Deadline
  • Reminder time
  • Completion status
  • Priority: TellDone High = Importance High, Medium = Normal, Low = Low

Recurring tasks don't sync yet - a recurring task stays a one-off item on the Microsoft To Do side.

Changes sync both ways:

  • Create, edit, or complete a task in TellDone, and it updates in Microsoft To Do
  • Complete, edit, or delete a task in Microsoft To Do, and it updates in TellDone
tip

Changes you make in TellDone reach Microsoft To Do right away. Changes made in Microsoft To Do (completing, editing, or deleting a task) sync back to TellDone on a periodic check, usually within a few minutes - not instantly.

Disconnect

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations
  2. Tap Microsoft To Do
  3. Tap Disconnect

Your tasks in both apps remain unchanged - only the sync connection is removed. Disconnecting in TellDone removes TellDone's access token immediately. To fully revoke TellDone's access from the Microsoft side as well, remove it from your account at account.microsoft.com.
