Apple Journal

Export your TellDone notes as entries in Apple Journal using a Shortcut.

Requirements​

  • iOS 18 or later - the Journal app is built into iOS

Setup​

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations
  2. Tap Apple Journal
  3. Tap Install Shortcut to add the TellDone export shortcut from iCloud
  4. Confirm the shortcut installation when prompted

How it works​

  • From any note, tap the export button in the toolbar and choose Apple Journal
  • The shortcut creates a new journal entry with your note content
  • Entries appear in the Apple Journal app on your device

Apple Journal is a local integration available on iOS only. It works on all plans and does not count against your server integration slots.

What gets exported​

Each exported entry includes your note's title, summary, and transcript - formatted as a journal entry.

Limitations​

  • One-way only - notes export from TellDone to Journal. Changes in Journal do not sync back
  • Manual export - each note must be exported individually from the note detail screen
  • Requires the Shortcut to be installed first
tip

Apple Journal is great for turning voice reflections and daily recaps into a personal journal. Record your thoughts in TellDone and export the ones worth keeping.
