Delete your account

You can permanently delete your TellDone account and all associated data at any time. The flow on the Delete Account screen adapts to your subscription state so you don't get stuck or charged by accident.

How to delete

  1. Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account
  2. Enter your password to confirm (Apple Sign-In users: type DELETE instead)
  3. Check your email for a confirmation link
  4. Click the link, and a 7-day grace period begins
  5. After 7 days, all data is permanently and irreversibly deleted
note

After you click the confirmation link, you will be signed out on all devices. You can sign back in - your account remains accessible during the 7-day window.

The same flow works on the iOS app and on the web app at app.telldone.app.

caution

Deleting your account does NOT cancel an active App Store or Stripe subscription. Cancel it in your billing provider before deleting, or you will keep being charged.

What you see on the Delete Account screen

What appears on the screen depends on whether you have an active subscription and where you bought it.

If you have an active paid subscription (App Store, Stripe, or other billing)

A banner explains:

You have an active subscription. Cancel it in the App Store / your billing provider FIRST, then come back to delete the account.

The "Delete Account" button is still enabled, but tapping it shows a warning that you will keep being billed if you don't cancel in the store first. We recommend cancelling the subscription in your billing provider before continuing.

If you have a gift or promo subscription (free trial)

A banner explains:

Your free trial ends automatically on the date shown. You don't need to cancel anything to delete your account.

A soft "End trial now" button is shown. Tap it to end the gift or promo immediately, then delete your account normally. This option is currently available on iOS. On the web, you'll see the standard delete flow.

If your subscription is already cancelled

No warning banner is shown. Your subscription will run out on its own at the end of the current period. Deletion proceeds with the standard 7-day grace period.

If you change your mind

  • Within the 7-day window: open Settings > Account and tap "Cancel deletion", or tap the "Cancel deletion" option in your in-app Inbox notification. Your account is fully restored, with all data intact.
  • After the 7-day window: all data is gone and cannot be recovered. You'll need to register a new account from scratch.
tip

When deletion is scheduled, you will also see a notification in your in-app Inbox with the deletion date and a "Cancel deletion" button. This is the fastest way to stop the deletion if you change your mind.

What gets deleted

After the 7-day grace period:

  • All notes, tasks, and events
  • All audio recordings and transcripts
  • Your account details and settings
  • All reports (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly)
  • Integration tokens (Todoist, Notion, webhooks)
  • MCP access tokens
  • Push notification tokens
  • Usage history

Deletion is GDPR compliant.

Before you delete

warning

Account deletion is permanent. Once the 7-day grace period passes, your data cannot be recovered.

We recommend:

  1. Export your data first if you want to keep a copy
  2. Cancel your subscription in the App Store or Stripe before deleting
  3. Disconnect integrations - data already sent to Todoist, Notion, or via webhooks remains in those services
