TellDone on macOS
TellDone for Mac is a native companion app for reviewing everything you capture on your iPhone. Record on the go, then sit down at your Mac to browse, search, and manage your notes, tasks, events, and reports on a bigger screen.
What works on macOS
Three-column layout
The Mac app uses a desktop-optimized three-column interface:
- Sidebar - switch between Notes, Tasks, Events, and Reports
- List - browse and filter items with search, type filters, and tags
- Detail - read the full content, play back audio, and navigate between linked items
The divider between the list and detail columns is draggable, so you can adjust the layout to your preference.
Notes
- Browse all your notes with filters by type (task, idea, info, status, meeting, event, reflection) and tags
- Full-text and semantic search
- Play back the original audio recording
- Read the transcript
- See linked tasks and events, and click through to them
- Archive, delete, and restore notes
- Copy note content with Cmd+C
Tasks
- View tasks with filters: all, active, or completed, plus tag filtering
- Mark tasks as done or reopen them with a single click
- See priority, deadline, and reminder details
- Navigate to the linked note with its audio and transcript
- Delete and copy tasks
Events
- Filter by upcoming, past, or cancelled
- Events grouped by day: today, tomorrow, this week, later
- View status (confirmed, tentative, cancelled), location, time, attendees, and recurrence
- Cancel and restore events
- Navigate to the linked note
Reports
- Read daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly AI reports
- Navigate between periods with arrow controls and date pickers
- Collapsible sections for easy scanning
- Search within report content
- Copy the full report text

What does not work on macOS
The Mac app is a view-only companion. The following features are available only on iPhone:
- Voice recording - there is no microphone recording on Mac
- Text note input - you cannot create notes from text on Mac
- Tag management - creating, editing, and deleting tags is iOS only
- Local integrations - Things 3, Apple Calendar, and Reminders integrations run on the iPhone
- Offline queue - offline recording and sync is an iPhone feature
- Siri Shortcuts - voice shortcuts and the Control Center widget are iOS only

Think of it this way: your iPhone is where you capture, your Mac is where you review. Record a quick voice note on your phone during a meeting, then open your Mac later to read the structured note, check off tasks, and browse your reports.
